Privacy Policy
Muslim247 is designed to provide prayer, Quran, remembrance, and worship tools without accounts, advertisements, behavioural tracking, or third-party analytics.
1. Information the app uses
Location
If you grant location access, Muslim247 uses your device’s location to calculate prayer times, determine Qibla direction, support nearby-masjid features, and show location-aware information. Prayer-time and Qibla calculations are performed on your device. You may use manual city selection where available, and you can change or revoke location permission in iOS Settings.
When you request weather information, the coordinates needed for the request are sent to Apple WeatherKit so it can return current conditions for your area. Muslim247 does not use location for advertising and does not maintain a location-history database.
If you choose mosque search, directions, or another map-based action, Apple Maps or the selected external mapping service may receive the location and search information required to provide that action under its own privacy terms.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Muslim247 schedules prayer, Athan, worship, and reminder notifications locally on your device according to the options you select. Local Athan and reminder notifications remain scheduled on your device and do not use a developer server. If you enable the optional next-prayer Live Activity, Muslim247 sends a temporary ActivityKit push token, an anonymous activity identifier, and the upcoming canonical prayer names/timestamps calculated on your device to a Muslim247 relay hosted on Netlify. The relay uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) only to update that Live Activity; it does not receive your latitude/longitude, account information, Quran reading data, worship history, contacts, advertising identifiers, or analytics.
Motion and compass information
If enabled, compass readings are used for Qibla guidance. The optional Calm Arrival feature may use step and distance information through Apple’s Core Motion framework. This information is used on your device for the feature and is not transmitted by Muslim247.
Apple Health
The current release does not access Apple Health or HealthKit.
Preferences and private worship data
Settings and personal choices such as calculation method, selected city, favourite mosque, manually entered iqama times, tasbih counts, bookmarks, saved content, Quran reading position, reminder choices, and private worship-support entries are stored locally in the app’s private storage. Muslim247 does not require cloud sync or an account for these features.
Streaming audio, radio, and external sources
When you choose streaming Quran audio, Quran radio, or another online media feature, your device connects to the relevant content provider. The provider may receive standard technical connection information such as your IP address, requested stream, and request time under its own privacy practices.
Some religious references, mosque information, or source links open Safari or another external app only when you choose them. Once opened, the external provider’s privacy policy applies. Muslim247 does not use these connections for cross-app tracking.
Analytics and diagnostics
Muslim247 does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may make diagnostic information available through its operating-system services if you have chosen to share analytics or crash data with Apple or app developers in iOS Settings.
2. Information the support website collects
The contact form collects only the information you choose to submit, such as your name, email address, support topic, app or iOS version, and message. It is used to respond to your request, investigate a reported problem, prevent abuse, and keep necessary support records.
The form is processed using Netlify Forms. Netlify may therefore process or store the submission outside Canada under its own terms. The site contains no analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels, or external fonts.
Do not include passwords, payment information, health records, legal documents, or private religious details that are not needed to resolve your request.
3. What Muslim247 does not do
- No account or sign-in requirement for core app features.
- No third-party behavioural advertising.
- No sale or rental of personal information.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- No account, advertising, analytics, or worship-profile server. The optional Live Activity relay temporarily retains only its ActivityKit registration and upcoming canonical prayer names/timestamps for app functionality.
4. Retention
Local app preferences remain on your device until you change them, reset them, or remove the app. Support submissions are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.
5. Your choices
You can deny or revoke location, notification, motion, and other permissions in iOS Settings. Manual city selection is available where supported. To ask about or request deletion of information you submitted through the support website, use the contact form and choose “Privacy request.”
6. Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for support information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so send only the information needed to resolve your request.
7. External providers
Apple WeatherKit provides weather data. Apple services may provide maps, directions, system permissions, or optional operating-system diagnostics. Streaming, radio, and linked-source providers process requests under their own privacy policies.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if Muslim247’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when a material change is published.
